Every week, I share three great product resources from a variety of perspectives. Let's dive in!

Rethinking job risk by Linda Zhang

Linda Zhang, founder of Product Lessons, challenges the assumption that starting a business or joining an early-stage startup is inherently riskier than joining established companies. She highlights how startups can foster skill development and expand networks, mitigating long-term career risk. Zhang warns that large companies with bloated teams often carry hidden risks, such as limited individual impact and greater vulnerability to layoffs.

The Blessing and Curse of Product-Led Growth by Noa Ganot

Noa Ganot, founder of Infinify, explores how product-led growth (PLG) shifts decision-making power from IT departments to end users. Ganot highlights the benefits of empowering users to experience product value firsthand, and she emphasizes that PLG is no longer optional for product companies.

There's Nothing Magical About the SaaS Magic Number by Nnamdi Iregbulem

Nnamdi Iregbulem, Partner at Lightspeed Ventures, questions the reliability of the SaaS "magic number" as a sales efficiency metric. He advises product managers to prioritize a holistic view of financial health over single metrics to guide smarter investment decisions and achieve sustainable growth.

Behind the Scenes

Hey there, it’s Clement! Lately, I’ve been coaching PMs on handling conflicts within their teams.

When you bring together different perspectives, priorities, and personalities, disagreements are bound to happen.

But conflict isn’t the enemy! In fact, some of the best product decisions come from teams that know how to navigate disagreements productively.

The key is to focus on what unites the team: building the best possible product.

That means addressing conflicts head-on with clear communication, empathy, and integrity, rather than letting tension simmer beneath the surface.

Here’s what I’ve found works well:

  • Stay anchored in shared goals. Even when opinions clash, remind yourself (and others) that everyone is ultimately working toward the same outcome.
  • Speak up with confidence and professionalism. If something truly matters, don’t shy away from standing your ground. But standing firm doesn’t mean raising your voice. How you say something matters just as much as what you say.
  • Turn conflicts into learning moments. Instead of seeing disagreements as roadblocks, use them as opportunities to refine ideas and push for better solutions.

Handled well, conflict strengthens teams rather than dividing them.

What strategies have worked for you when navigating tough conversations? I’d love to hear your approach!

With love,
Clement
